Anne Marie Elliott passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2024. Anne was born in Ashland, OR on November 13, 1948. She grew up in Reno, NV. Anne graduated from Wooster High School in 1966 and then continued her education at the University of Nevada, Reno. Anne graduated in 1970 with a B.S. in Math. After a few years in banking, she became a computer programmer and found employment with the State of Nevada in 1975. During this time, Anne moved to Carson City and worked for NIC and NDOT for 25 years.
After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for 4H, Animal Ark, Washoe County Schools, and was actively involved in OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute). Anne developed a love for photography, sailing and travel. She had traveled to over 25 countries and throughout the US. Anne was an avid supporter of UNR and enjoye attending the Wolfpack’s football and basketball games.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Annie Elliott. Anne is survived by her sister, Patricia Eastman, nieces, Brenda (Dale) Hermansen and Michon Wright, great-nephews, Andrew Hermansen and Kordell Colbert, great-niece, El Hermansen and numerous cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11 am. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 357 Clay St. in Reno. Reception to follow. Anne didn’t want people in dark or formal clothes, so the family is asking people to wear something bright, tie dye or something with frogs on it. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OLLI, Diabetes Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
