Dale was born on March 22,1946 in Oregon to Fred and Mary Hatchell. His father was a pastor, and his mother was a homemaker and they raised four children, sister, Teri and
brothers, Loren and Preston all of blessed memory.
Saundra “Sandy” and Dale had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 11th.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sandy Hatchell, his children, Tim Hatchell (Meredith), Paul Woods (Tracey) and Nerissa Hatchell and his grandchildren Hannah Woods and Avery, Keegan, and Samara Hatchell. Dale also had many family members and friends that mourn of his passing.
He graduated High School in Geyserville, California. He joined the Navy a few years after high school. He met Sandy while serving in the Navy in San Diego. Dale served for 16 years.
Both he and Sandy made the decision to move to Carson City, Nevada where Sandy grew up. Dale then began a career in Sandy’s family business, Shaw Construction. He worked there until 2002 and began to work for Bragg Crane Company. Dale retired in 2012 to spend more time with family and friends.
After a few years, he wanted to focus on what he could do that gave him purpose and to give back to the community that he loved so much. The first thing he did was began working part time at JAC (Jump Around Carson) and he soon became a favorite driver of the passengers. He also became a trainer and safety expert there.
He and Sandy became members of First Presbyterian Church in Carson City, where he became an Elder and continued his service of being a Deacon. It was there that his dedication to God and service really shined.
Dale’s celebration of life will be held on June 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian in Carson City, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, please give to First Presbyterian or a charity of your choice
