Stanton Ray Lamb went home to be with God on June 17, 2024; he was 72 years old. A resident of Gardnerville, he was a loving son, dad, grandpa, and friend.
Stan was born on December 17, 1951, in Los Angeles to Raymond and Ruth Lamb. He grew up in Claremont, California where he became a Police Officer and Detective for the Corona Police Department. He moved to the Carson Valley in 1980. There he began a long career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, retiring as a Sergeant and Watch Commander in 2002. While serving in Douglas County, Stan attended and graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1988.
Stan was devoted to his family, was an extremely loyal friend, and a dedicated community advocate. Over the last 40 years, his work in law enforcement led him to help many people in Douglas County: he organized and implemented a highly successful Community Oriented Policing Program, he developed a connection between DCSO and Douglas County School District to create a much needed School Safety Program, and he served on the Douglas County Parks and Recreation board helping to ensure the building of the Douglas County Skate Park and Community Center. He was a faithful Catholic and was very grateful for his community at St. Gall Catholic Church. Additionally, he loved all dogs and was a Los Angeles Dodger fan through and through.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents and his cherished dogs, Dodger and Mijo.
Stan is survived by his son Ryan Lamb (Lorelei), daughters Karen Lamb and Jessica Lamb (Scott Polan), his grandsons Jase, Miles, Knox, and Kasen, and a large community of lifelong friends.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Gall’s Catholic Church at 1343 Centerville Lane Gardnerville, Nevada 89410 on Thursday, June 27, 2024 @ 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Eastside Memorial in a private burial with family.
