Carolyn Louise Knapton, age 97, died peacefully Friday March 15, 2024, at Country Village in Chico California.
Carolyn was born February 24, 1927, in Huntington Indiana, to Carl and Dorothy (McClure) Repp. After graduating from DePauw University in 1949, she moved to San Francisco where she met her first husband, William Arant. After living in California and Utah the couple settled in Carson City, Nevada, where they raised three children. There Carolyn worked as a school librarian, a job she loved, for 20 years. She later married William Knapton.
In college, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and, later, a member of P.E.O., an organization supporting women's education. An avid reader, she enjoyed being part of her book club in Huntington, after moving back to her hometown to be closer to her aging father. She loved spending time with her family including her nieces, nephew, and cousins.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marjorie Ann Weaver and her brother Carl David Repp. She is survived by her children Matt, Joel and Holly, as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Thank you to the staff of Country Village for their kind and tender care.
Memorial donations may be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington County, Indiana.
