Edwin Paul Ament, born January 24, 1945, in Wilmerding Pennsylvania, passed away March 16, 2024, at Northern Nevada Medical Center in Reno.
Ed was one of three children born to Edwin R and Louise Ament. As a boy, his family moved briefly to West Virginia and then settled in Kent Ohio. Ed graduated from Roosevelt High School and married his high school sweetheart, Susan Kilbourne. Ed and Sue started their
family with two girls while Ed earned his degree in computer science at Kent State University.
Ed and Sue moved West, briefly to Southern California, and then settled in Gardnerville, Nevada where they added a son to their family and raised their kids.
Ed worked for the State of Nevada in computer programming for social services. He was involved in the Gardnerville 20/30 service club, coached, and officiated youth sports, and enjoyed hunting, as much for being outdoors with friends, as for the Chukar to bring home.
Ed later married his second wife Beverly Hill. They had many happy years enjoying time in Washington State and the high desert areas in Northern Nevada, Northern Arizona, and Northern California.
Ed enjoyed his hobbies of golf and amateur photography. He always had his acoustic guitar and beautifully sang and played country music favorites and praise songs. Ed loved God and his savior Jesus. He knew one day he would be called home.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin, and Louise and by his brother Darrel.
Ed is survived by his sister Beth Ann Ament Pudloski; his children, Shelley DuVarney, Julie Ament, and Randy Ament; granddaughters, Megan Forbes, Bethany Edholm, Rebecca DuVarney, Raleigh Ament, and Avery Ament; 5 great grandchildren and 5 nephews. He loved them all.
