Our Mother passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on May 23, 2024. In the days leading up to Mom’s passing, she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and caring staff at Banner Churchill Hospital, Fallon, NV.
Mom was born on June 12, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, to Walter Wood and Lillian Wood (Kilor). Mom met and married our Dad (Paul) in New York and then eventually moved to California where she enjoyed being a homemaker and lovingly took care of her children. After many years in California, Mom and Dad moved to Carson City where she worked at Ben Franklin Crafts for many years and is where she met so many of her dear friends.
Mom’s passion in life was her family. She devoted herself to the loving care she gave to our Dad, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always put the concerns of others before her own, even up to the days and final hours of her passing.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Paul. Mom is survived by her children Paul Purcell (Lori), Tom Purcell (Vickie), Diane Marcin (John) and Laurie Purcell; grandchildren Crystal Sydney (Brian), Danny Marcin (Carrie), Ryan Pura, Tom Purcell (Jessica), Jennifer (Purcell) Williams (Dylan) and Michael Rosenberg; great grandchildren Brady Sydney, Timothy Sydney, Micah Sydney, Axel Marcin and one-month old baby Colt Williams; loving sisters Janice Gaeng and Lynn Hayes and many nieces and nephews that she so fondly spoke about.
At Mom’s request, no services will be held. Please just keep Mom in your memories.
