It is with great sadness that the family of Nannette Kathleen Moffett announces her passing on October 4, 2024. She is survived by her three children, Yvette Kaunismaki, Maurice Moffett, and Mignon Lagatta, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, and her brother Dean Staples. The family that had predeceased her include her parents, Gladys and Wesley; her adopted mom, Penny; her life partner, Ralph; her sister, Suzette; and her brother, Douglas.
She was born and raised in Northern Nevada and raised her family in Carson City. She loved the Carson City community and was known by many for her political activism, her love for entertaining, long career in real estate, and commitment to her family. Her favorite past time, in the last five years, was to spend time with her grandchildren. She was loved dearly by her family; and will be missed by, not only her family, but all her friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony for family and close friends at Toiyabe Golf Club in Washoe Valley on November 16, 2024, from 12pm to 3pm. The family asks that instead of flowers, a donation in her name be made to The Salvation Army. This was one of many organizations she supported and believed in.
