Phyllis Anne Knutson, 85, passed away in Carson City, Nevada, her home for over 45 years, surrounded by family. Born in Dunn County Wisconsin, Phyllis was known for her sharp wit, warm heart, and unwavering strength.

She dedicated much of her life to law enforcement, serving as a dispatcher and jailer for the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, later joining the Nevada State Capitol Police and eventually the Nevada State Legislator Police. A peacekeeper by nature, she carried herself with grace, authority, and a well-timed sense of humor. Beyond her career, Phyllis was a skilled golfer on the links, an exceptional shot at the range, and an unapologetic animal lover. She cherished art, music, long drives, and good company.

She is survived by her only son Tim (Terry) Knutson; grandchildren Krystle Knutson (Nick), Jared Knutson, and Joe Knutson; brother Bruce McIvor, sister Judith Stoner (Elvin); her best friend of 35 years, Mel Rodela; many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by; father, Marshall McIvor; mother, Myrtle Trinko; brother, Palmer McIvor; sister-in-law Shirley McIvor; sister, Pauline Gilstrap; brother-in-law, Nei Gilstrap; nephew, Marshall Gilstrap; sister-in-law, Sandy McIvor.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
