Hale Bennett shows a model of a B-26 Marauder bomber bearing the black-and-white stripes that were painted on planes before D-Day so ground troops could easily distinguish U.S. planes from enemy aircraft. The painting behind Bennett shows the B-26 flown by Dave Dewhurst, operations officer for the 386th Bomberment Group. In an actual formation, Bennett's bomber would be to the left of Dewhurst's. The yellow stripe on the tales signify the 386th bomber group.
