The Minden siren sports a new coat of paint.
A bill designed to silence the Minden siren was signed into law by Gov. Joe Lombardo on June 7 after passing overwhelmingly in both the senate and the assembly.
Senate Bill 391 heard by the Senate Government Affairs Committee
In a joint statement issued Wednesday morning, the Washoe Tribe and the Town of Minden agreed to move the siren's evening sounding to 5 p.m.
Assembly Bill 88 has been delivered to Gov. Steve Sisolak for his signature.
A bill before the Nevada Legislature would require the county to silence the Minden siren.
