Of the four people who spoke at a public hearing on a proposal for the county to bond for $37 million to construct a new courthouse at least half favored the effort.
On Thursday, Douglas County commissioners will hold a public hearing on the issuance of $51 million in bonds to build a new courthouse, the fourth built expressly for the purpose in county history.
New courthouse cost estimate at $50 million while renovation is at $60 million, so far
Construction on a new judicial center could begin next spring if the financial stars align.
