Evelyn W. Jenkins

Gardnerville centenarian and native Nevadan Evelyn W. Jenkins, 102, died Feb. 17, 2009, at Merrill Gardens.

Born Sept. 28, 1906, in Reno to Forrest and Pearl D. Wartman, she was a graduate of Reno High School. She married Robert E. Jenkins in Reno on March 2, 1926.

Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and an Eastern Star Daughter of the Nile. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert E. Jenkins, who died in 1994.

She is survived by a son, Daniel Jenkins; a daughter Lori Jenkins; sister-in-law Ethel W. Plummer; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mrs. Jenkins was cremated.
