Pony Express event May 1 in Lampe Park

The Douglas County Public Library celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Pony Express with a special event May 1.

The Nevada Division of the National Pony Express presents a lecture in the Lampe Park Pavilion at 10 a.m., a mail bag exchange demonstration follows in Herbig Park. Write a letter to be carried by a Pony Express rider during the program and visit the horses before they ride. Pick up letters immediately after the mail exchange demonstration. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult.
