Genoa, Nev. — The Bureau of Indian Affairs is conducting a public session 4:30-7 p.m. today on the Painted Rock gravel mine at the top of Johnson Lane at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville. The collision at Kimmerling Road and Highway 88 was cleared at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, and the road is open with no restrictions this morning. One person, whose vehicle ended up on its top, was helicoptered for treatment with critical injuries.
I don’t know the specifics of Monday afternoon’s T-bone collision, but these sometimes happen when a car in the turn lane obscures an oncoming vehicle as someone’s trying to pull out from the stop sign.
The work that’s snarled the intersection of highways 395 and 88 is expected to wrap up this weekend. There’s a section of the work that MGSD is doing that is in the highway as well as Ironwood. The actual overlay between Ironwood and Clear Creek isn’t expected to occur until 2025, thankfully.
I got word that St. Gall is filled to the brim and has stopped accepting donations for its spring rummage sale. The sale will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26 and 27.
Women in History is actually on Saturday. For some reason I’ve been off a day this week. The three-day bee conference is Friday through Sunday. Both are correct in today’s calendar.
The first full day of spring is forecast to be sunny with a high temperature of 65 degrees. The wind will pick up out of the west at 5-10 mph this afternoon.
