Genoa, Nev. — A barn fire in Genoa claimed livestock early this morning. The fire was toned out at 2:48 a.m. at Jacks Valley Road and Centennial. East Fork reached out this morning and will be issuing more information.


There were a couple of reports of rockfalls over the weekend, including a small boulder on Kingsbury on Saturday and something a little more serious just south of Cave Rock on Sunday.


Kiwanis Turkey Bingo was turning people away for the first two games in the CVIC Hall, because the event was absolutely at capacity.


Heavenly Mountain Resort reported 10 inches of snow from the weekend’s storm with Boreal pulling in 28 inches.


Ebbetts Pass is a little over double average for this date, according to Natural Resources Conservation Service snow telemetry. That’s only 4.5 inches, but every little bit helps during the fall.


A winter storm warning takes effect 1 p.m. today through 4 a.m. Wednesday for Lake Tahoe. The warning is in effect for Mono County until 10 a.m. Wednesday.


It’s overcast and cold out this morning. It is 20 degrees at 7 a.m. and if there’s any precipitation before 10 a.m. it could mean some snow is in the offing to open our Thanksgiving week.


There’s a chance of snow showers before 10 then rain. We’re likely not going to see much of the sun today with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 49 degrees and not much wind.
