Gourd art workshops at Lone Tree Gallery

Jan Rollenhagen offers gourd art workshops, 1-4 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month starting Jan. 5, at Lone Tree Gallery. Cost of $36 per workshop includes materials and use of equipment. Workshops include gourd preparation Jan. 5, finishing treatments on Feb. 2, woodburning on March 2, golf leaf finishing April 6, and pine needle border May 4.

Showing Christmas spirit

Our neighborhood in Ruhenstroth is really showing their Christmas spirit with all the magnificent light displays. So much so that our judges in the Ruhenstroth Christmas lighting contest had a very difficult time choosing this year's winner but they made a decision. Congratulations to Lisa and Dave Prosser at 701 Pinto Circle. With decorations on the house, in the trees and around the yard making it look like a winter wonderland, the home brings smiles to all who pass by.
