DARE graduates 76

In a ceremony officiated by Principal Rommy Cronin, 76 students at the Pinon Hills Elementary School graduated Nov. 30 from the nationally acclaimed DARE program. The 10-week program was instructed by Douglas County Sheriff's Office Youth Services Officer Chris Griffith.

December, detangling decorative holiday lights stuffed in a box from the cellar is a little harder this year. My feed truck is broken down. The dog died this year. My younger sister passed away last January and then Dad in March, short of his 80th birthday. This is about Dad's gift.

Vote for favorite trees in museum contest

Thanks to everyone who braved the rainy weather last Saturday and came out to the annual Holiday Gala. We probably had 400 people through the museum seeing the trees, the gingerbread houses, visiting Santa and buying cookies. This was the best year ever for the Gala and we at Douglas County Historical Society thank you so much for supporting us.
