Prayers to all in Bacon accident

My prayer to the Lord, Christ Jesus, is that his Holy Spirit will comfort the families of Ted Bacon, the man that died with Ted, as well as the three men still fighting for their lives. May The Lord have mercy on those three men and restore their lives from this tragic accident. The Holy Spirit seems to really move when people say "Yes Jesus," and mean it.

When will it stop?

Douglas County customers of the North Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant can look forward to the escalation of their monthly sewer bill from the current $51.20 to $89.15 per month in 2015. That is a $38.13 per month increase - 74.7 percent. This is on top of the 29.2 percent increase last October. Where will it all stop?

Reasons to oppose motocross track at Topaz Lake

On Nov. 30, 2010, a hearing was convened by the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Commission's Advisory Committee at the Topaz Lodge to elicit comments from the public regarding the proposed construction of a motocross track near the Topaz Lake County Park. Following are reasons for opposition of any further consideration of this project:

Utilities mess tests county's resolve

On Thursday, Douglas County commissioners approved consolidating the Sunrise Estates and the East Valley Water System and increased the rates for the North Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Douglas County 4-H competes in Reno Poultry Show

Douglas County 4-H Poultry Project members competed at the Reno Poultry Show on Nov. 20. We did really great out of the 450 birds. There was a really bad snowstorm all that weekend, so it was lucky all of us made it there.
